UNVEILING OF THE ACTIVITIES
AT IETM MONTRÉAL 2007

Montreal, April 18, 2007 — The organizers of IETM Montréal 2007 are unveiling the activities scheduled for participants in the 31st Plenary Meeting of the IETM, the International Network for the Performing Arts, which will be held for the first time in North America, in Montreal, from May 30 to June 3, 2007.

Under the main theme of Cultural Warming, the subjects on the program are highly topical and go straight to the heart of the concerns and passions of the contemporary performing arts milieu. The choice of subjects is the result of consultations across Canada as well as the close collaboration between the Canadian organizers and the IETM secretariat in Brussels, and reflect questions raised by IETM members.

Short descriptions of each of these activities, with preliminary schedules, are available at: www.ietm.org (Meetings sections/Montreal/programme) or simply click here.

The names of speakers, moderators, and workshop leaders will be announced during the week of May 1st. In keeping with the informal spirit of the network, you can be assured that the Cultural Warming theme, the debates, and the possible controversies won't be the only aspects that may heat up this meeting: getting together and celebrating will be an important part of the proceedings!

The deadline for registering at IETM Montréal 2007 has been extended to April 27, 2007, after which a supplementary fee will apply. Numerous delegates from over thirty countries have registered already. Another reason to register quickly: only a few days are left to take advantage of the special rates for accommodations and for performances at Festival TransAmériques!

REMINDER OF IMPORTANT DEADLINES
April 20: FTA performances: 40% discount and $5 discount
April 27: registration (after this date, a supplementary amount will apply) - http://register.ietm.org/
April 30: hotels: special rates available

To put the Cultural Warming theme into perspective and to offer matter for reflection on this subject, artists Olivier Kemeid, John Mighton, and Marie Clements have published their personal viewpoints, on: www.ietmmontreal2007.org. Take time to read them!
