THIS WEBSITE REFERS TO AN EVENT THAT TOOK PLACE IN 2007 AND AN ORGANIZATION WHICH HAS NOW BEEN CLOSED.
Things will heat up in Montreal this spring, with IETM’s
31st Annual Plenary Meeting, to take place from May 30 to June 3, 2007, concurrently with the first edition of the Festival TransAmériques (May 23 - June 7) which will provide a high-calibre international theatre and dance program. For interested IETM participants, a pre-meeting activity in Quebec City is also scheduled on May 29.
IETM (Informal European Theatre Meeting), now called the International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts, is the largest European-based performing arts network, with over 400 member organizations from 45 countries in Europe and beyond. These are engaged in innovative performance work, and committed to cross-border artistic exchange and collaboration, as well as international touring and programming. Over twenty Canadian performing arts organizations are members of IETM; most of these are in Montreal. [-]
IETM is a platform for networking, communication, the dynamic exchange of information, and know-how transfer. Since this could well be the only official IETM plenary gathering ever held outside Europe, where the majority of members are based, don’t miss this chance to discover the network!
Under the main theme of Cultural Warming, the meeting is sure to shake participants out of their winter doldrums: besides an exciting artistic program, the presentations, panel discussions, and workshops will go straight to the heart of subjects such as cultural diversity and emerging artists, that are of prime concern to the performing arts milieu. IETM Montréal 2007 is taking a decided stand in favour of younger artists and cultural operators. Their presence will be felt and their ideas will be heard, even if it makes the temperature rise a few degrees!
The IETM Secretariat in Brussels and the Organizing Team of IETM Montréal 2007 are collaborating in the organization of this event.
IETM Montréal 2007 is a project carried out in partnership with the Festival TransAmériques, Place des Arts, and UQAM.
We would like to sincerely thank all our partners whose support has made this wonderful adventure possible.
We’re very much looking forward to welcoming as many of you as possible at IETM Montréal 2007!
